HK Accuracy - USP/USP Tactical/MK23?

Has anyone fired any or all three of these pistols and have an opinion on their accuracy? I'm looking to get one and I know the MK 23 is all match grade, but for the price of the pistol for mainly killing paper targets, are the other two 'good enough'? I like the feel of the MK23 even though its larger, but a USP fits nice too. Can you shoot relatively tight groups with either of the two lesser models. And, how do they compare to a P229? I have shot one of those and did well, even though it felt 'tall', but I just like the HK's.

Own a usp 40 (full size) and have benn happy with it' s proformance. at 25 yard it can easily shoot under 3 1/2 inches with out being rested in sand bags. The 45 expert has a O-ring like the MK23 that is reported to improve groups as it tightens up the barrel to slide fit. but Ive never fired any other usp to know one way or another.

I have shot all of the HK USP, Tactical and the MK23 for me I like the USP Tactical. At .45 ACP I've been able to shoot 3 shots the size of a quarter at 25 yards (I have the target to prove it.) The standard and the compact are also great guns. The Sig P229 is also a good gun in .40S&W my grouping for the Sig at 25 yards 3 shots ts about the size of a fifty cent piece. The key to shooting tight groups is practice, practice, practice. I've been shooting since I was 12 I'm 30 now. I can hit a target at 200 yards with a colt new service 44-40 3" group one handed.

I carried the H&K USP .45acp as a duty weapon for about two years. It was the only weapon I qualified 100% with. The Wyoming qualification course starts a 50 yards down to 5 yards, all under time constraints. I found the USP to reliable and accurate under all conditions. By the way, my duty ammo was a 200 gr. jacketed hollow point.
