Review Summary: HK-USP

The "Mashed Potatoes" trigger
Reviewed By smackthellama on Aug 5 2003
Manufacturer: HK
The good qualities: Reliable, digests anything it's fed (ammo-wise, anyway), heavy slide helps with recoil, factory sights resemble real sights, ambidextrous mag release is a nice feature, decocker there for those who like it, doesn't need much oil or upkeep.
The bad qualities: The trigger sucks. All-around pathetic. Mushy pull, overpull, and trigger reset is almost back out to full extension. Manual safety not as easy to manipulate as it oculd be. Parts/accessories/mags are hard to come by. Service department not exactly responsive to consumer requests.
In a NutShell: An excellent idea, with pretty good execution. Unfortunately, the trigger needs work.

It's like pulling the trigger through mashed potatoes, and after the gun has fired, again, there's travel through mashed potatoes. Fortunately, the SA mode makes the trip through the potatoes a lot shorter. The same mushiness is present, it just doesn't l
