Questions About the H&K USP 9mm?

I just bought my first hand gun, and I heard that the H&K makes the best. So after running through some rounds on the range I bought a USP 9mm. I was hoping some gun owners can give me feed back on the H&K. Thanks!

Congratulations on your new acquisition! THE BEST,according to most of the pro's. Rather than deal with amateur opinions, I have found that the professional evaluators, both commercial and independent, have given a slight edge to the H-K pistols, from tests run by evaluators from such sources as Guns & Ammo, American Handgunner, and Gun Tests magazines. In such tests, the H-K USP models had fewer malfunctions and NO (0) failures when tested against, not only the Sig-Sauer, but Beretta, Springfield, and S&W models, as well. I've run nearly 5,000 rounds through my H-K USP .45ACP, including Hydra-Shok, Cor-Bon, and several equivilent custom handloads, with 0 stoppages EVER, and it's tolerances haven't measureably changed since I first aquired it. Know too that I carry my USP .45 in 'Condition One' (c0cked & locked) with a round chambered, just as safely as one can with the 1911. The only negative factors I've dealt with carrying the USP, inherrent in the SOCOM, as well, is it's larger size, but I'm a larger guy and LIKE the more impressive size, and the limited availability of carry systems, but I carry concealed in my own unorthodox manner, anyway. If I HAD to, I might carry my Glock, instead, but only if my H-K was in the shop, which I never foresee happening.

H&K makes a very good gun probly close to best but depending on what your using it for the caliber could be a little small

The "best" handgun is the subject of much debate around here, while i agree with you, you got the best ( I own 2 HKUSP's) others will say Sig is the best, while others will claim Colt or Kimber or S&W are the best. Regardless of all that, you did in fact buy a very high quality, reliable, accurate pistol. Be cautious of lead ammo in it, use only jacketed rounds. Extra magazines can be had fairly cheaply on the net, around 10 bucks apiece for the 10 rounders, a bit more for the high capacity. HK's require very little maintenance , just a proper cleaning after you shoot it and a small amount of oil. Do not over lube it.

Your going to get lots of opinions here........ Dont lose any sleep over what you purchased. The H&K pistols are fine firearms with a good reputation..... YEAH yeah yeah - there may be better guns but so what?? I know there are companys that make 1911's out there that are over $3600...... I dont know about you but thats a lot of money even if your a rich guy... Enjoy your H&K... If it wasnt so hard to get a pistol permit here in New York I surely would own one even with the 9MM option!!

In this humble opinion you bought from the world's best manufacturer. "Best" is of course a relative term to what your use is though. I snagged one the HK45's the minute they were available. Enjoy that gun. Have a good 'un.

The H&K USP is an excellent pistol. It's easy to clean, shoots very well, has excellent ergonomics and is tough enough to pass rigorous tests. I enjoy my USP chambered for .45ACP. If I were to buy another USP, it would be chambered for 9mm. Congratulations on your purchase. :-)
