As for the gun itself Sniper nailed it, or your loal gun dealer. That "attachment" is a $3500 Wilcox industries "Nightstalker" VIS laser and IR flashlight. A newer variation of it is used by about 4 military units worldwide, lol. What do you possibly need infrared for? You do know you would not be able to see the light without night vision? Do a lot of night vision goggle shooting? lol, why not go all out and get a set of $8600 ATN PVS-14-4's and get the full use out of that monolithic IR light. That is $10,000 to shoot a $1,500 gun in the dark. Just get the Surefire X300 with a pressure switch and be content, I assure you it is "real" and soldier approved. I carry one one my HK45, you might also want to take a look at that pistol too. The "Nightstalker" and many other Wilcox Industries products are not available to the public. Not new anyway (Expect to pay $1500 for an 8 year old model). Which is probably why it has still been known as the "attachment" thus far.... http://www.wilcoxind.com/ Edit: Hey! here is an excellent deal on one, better not pass it up, you never know when you will see one of these on the civilian market again.... http://cgi.ebay.com/Wilcox-Industries-Nightstalker-VIS-Laser-IR-Flashlight_W0QQitemZ160207464913QQihZ006QQcategoryZ40970QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

You don't even know what the "accesory" is do you? As a flying monk I would think you know a nun that would have one.

I sure hope you have the $$$ and experience with guns. The H&K Mark 23 is a great handgun but it's not easy for beginners to learn. The other two posts gave good answers. Another place to look is GunBroker.com you can get some good deals but you have to constantly look. Here's an auction for a like new starting bid is $1600 http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=92286907 I personally don't mind buying used firearms and have bought several from forums. Check out HKPro.com, they have a firearms sale forum. I've gotten my best deals from forum boards. I've also done my share in giving good deals. If you don't have $$$ for the Nightstalker and just want a cool accessory to attach to the rail, there's a GB auction for an Insight Technologies L.A.M. going for $1400 http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=92086743 If you can't afford a H&K Mark 23, look at the HK45. I have one and it's a great 45. But if you have no experience with handguns, get something like a Glock 17, Springfield XD, or Smith & Wesson M&P. Rent them at a range first.
